Think about this: one of the largest housing subsidies is managed by the IRS.
Mortgage Interest Deductions are a form of gov't subsidizing the cost of housing. If you take it, you live in a form of gov't subsidized housing. Part of my taxes goes to keep a roof over your head.
LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credits) are also managed by the IRS. Who would have guessed that the IRS also had a hand in creating affordable housing? What's that saying about death and taxes? =)
